Red Velvet is personally a family favourite.
My grandmother never fails to make this cake for Raya every single year, so it is no surprise how my sister and I really do enjoy making these cakes in a smaller, bite-sized version: our Red Velvet Cuppycakes. (:
During my short excursion back to KL, I planned to meet up with some close friends before I head back to Trengganu for Ramadhan and Eid (and they scatter around the globe pursuing their respective courses.) It's not everyday you have friends flying off to Europe, no? I wasn't going to meet some of these guys in a few years - so I figured...
"Why not bake something?"
Red Velvet - fresh out of the oven. |
Once frosted, even Angry Birds love it! |
I only brought 6 pieces to the mini-reunion. Huda and Harman each managed to snag a cupcake each and they said it was really, really good. And Harman is not a big fan of frosting. And he still loved the cupcake! (:
Unfortunately, Amir didn't get to taste any. He brought the remaining cupcakes home and told his siblings about it - and now all that's left are four rainbow-coloured paper cups with nothing but crumbs. Oh well. Tough luck, Amir. Maybe I'll bake you some in 2 or 3 years, when you get back from Ireland with that leprechaun I asked for. :D
